Originally designed for the iconic SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen
The candleholder debuted in 1958 but was reintroduced in 2002. Renowned Danish architect Arne Jacobsen designed the SAS Royal Hotel, which opened in 1958. Part of his commission was to design the interiors as well. This candleholder was part of the original interior of the iconic hotel. Many pieces that were part of the original design are now considered classics; they are seen as touchstones of 20th century Danish design.
Arne Jacobsen is best known as an architect. His work shaped the city of Copenhagen and is responsible for some of its most recognizable views.
