Alev Ebüzziya Siesbye is a renowned Turkish-Danish ceramicist born on August 30, 1938, in Istanbul. Growing up in an intellectual environment, she studied at the Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts and later worked in ceramics workshops in Turkey and Germany. In 1963, Siesbye moved to Denmark, where she worked at the Royal Porcelain Factory and studied at the School of Arts and Crafts. She established her own workshop in Copenhagen in 1969 and has been exhibiting her works globally since then.

Siesbye has received several grants and honors throughout her career, including the Thorvald Bindesbøll Medal in 2000, and she has continuously designed porcelain for companies like Rosenthal in Germany and Royal Copenhagen. In addition to her workshop in Copenhagen, Siesbye has had a workshop in Paris since 1978, where she has also been living since 1988.

Siesbye has maintained close connections with both Denmark and Turkey throughout her life. She was married to David Sisbye from 1967 to 1979. Her works have been exhibited in many galleries and museums around the world, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Danish Museum of Decorative Art in Copenhagen, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston.
