Nanna Ditzel was a Danish furniture designer known for her innovative and versatile designs. She was born on October 6, 1923, in Copenhagen, Denmark, and studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. After completing her studies, she worked as an apprentice in various design studios, including that of the renowned Danish furniture designer Finn Juhl.

In 1946, Ditzel established her own design studio with her husband, Jørgen Ditzel. Together, they produced a wide range of furniture designs, including chairs, tables, and sofas. Their work was characterized by its lightness, elegance, and functionality, and was widely recognized for its innovative use of materials and forms.

One of Ditzel's most famous designs is the "Hanging Egg Chair," which she created in 1959. This iconic chair, which was produced by the furniture company Fritz Hansen, is now considered a classic of Danish design and has been featured in many design museums around the world.

Throughout her career, Ditzel received numerous awards and accolades for her work, including the International Design Award from the American Institute of Interior Designers in 1966.
